| MARTA ZACCARON PRESENTATION Born in Udine – Italy. After graduating in engineering at the University of Bologna, I started to study and work in documentary video and photography. In 2001 I was admitted to study for a Master in film studies at the University College of Dublin, Ireland, where I graduated in 2002. In 2003 I studied basic photography and composition at the Photography School of Udine, Italy. In 2004 I studied photography in cinema at the New University of Cinema and Television, in Cinecittà, Rome. In the same year I studied also darkroom, portrait, advanced portrait and reportage at Graffiti Photography School in Rome. In May 2004 I went for a reportage in Myanmar, and some of these photos were then exhibited at Galleria la Pigna in Rome. With Graffiti I went to Palestine territories in December 2004-January 2005, for a photographic reportage. Some of these photos are part of the exhibition “The Land of Palestine” that took place in several towns of Italy as Rome, Naples, Genoa, Alessandria, Bologna, Man Marino and also in Bethlehem (Palestine territories). I made other photographic reportages in Palestine during 2005 in collaboration with Graffiti, and some of my photos are published in the book “Children of the Holy Land”, distributed by Feltrinelli. In 2005 I went also to Lebanon for a reportage concerning the social situation after the assassination of the premier Hariri, in collaboration with the Irish Lebanese cultural foundation. Some of these photos have been then exhibited during the Islamic culture festival in Dublin. They were also exhibited in cork in November 2005, for the celebrations of Cork, European capital of culture. In November 2005 I went to Guatemala, for a documentation about the damages of the hurricane Stan in that area, in collaboration with the Italian Cooperation. During winter 2005-2006 I was at Associated Press in Rome for a stage. In March 2006 I exhibited a series of photos with the title “Beyond the wall, Palestine Stories of Women” during the festival of Mediterranean women in Udine. In May 2006 I was in Nepal for a photographic documentary about the condition of children there, and worked with UNICEF Nepal. In March 2007 I was in Albania for a reportage about children victims of blood revenge between families, in the rural areas of the country. I’m currently working free-lance for Lapresse Photography Agency. I have worked in some short films and documentaries. In particular I was camera-woman and co-director for the documentary “Women in bus” that regards some Moroccan immigrates that go back home for holidays, and analyses their problem of identity. I directed also “Ragpickers” a documentary about the condition of children working in the streets of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. |
